Actualize Sports is honored to recognize Lucas Banning as the 2018 Actualize Sports Athlete of the Year!
Lucas began working with Actualize in 2016 to take his baseball game to the next level while reducing the likelihood of injury. In his 3+ years at Actualize, Lucas has defined what it looks like for a competitive athlete to pursue and actualize their purposes and potential in athletics and life.
Lucas is a multi-threat individual. He possesses: impeccable values and integrity; a huge heart rooted in an others-first foundation and a host of amazing gifts he freely shares with others; a gentlemanly respect; audacious goals in scholastics, athletics and life, and the desire and ability to implement the work it takes to actualize them; a fighter mentality who consistently operate at his best; a great big smile; weird birthing-like sounds when he’s pushing hard (LOL!); an amazing girlfriend, Kayla Macneil, who won our 2017 Athlete of the Year award. Check out the power couple to the left.
He’s kind of special. We kind of love him.

In 2018 Lucas’s fastball was 75 MPH. He has not been clocked in 2019, but with the changes in strength and performance we’re seeing, Lucas is shooting for low to mid 80s as a high school sophomore. Another cool metric is Lucas’s exit bat velocity in 2018 was 82.6 MPH and in 2019 is 91.6 MPH. Exit bat velocity measures how hard the ball leaves the bat.

Lucas’s parents, Randy & Melissa Banning shared:
“Lucas has grown tremendously both physically and mentally since starting his training at Actualize Sports & Fitness. We as parents, could not have ask for better trainers than Blaine and his staff. Not only has Lucas grown as an athlete, but he has matured into a wonderful young man, on and off the baseball field. Blaine and his staff are concerned not only as your child’s trainer but at Actualize they encourage your child to be the best they can be in all aspects of their lives. Lucas enjoys going to Actualize because he is seeing the benefits of his hard work. As a Freshmen he set 2 baseball records and as a Sophomore he was chosen as a team captain for the 2019 Eastmont Baseball Team. We believe Actualize provides the whole package for athletes who are ready to take the next step in their athletic careers.”

I’m so proud to call this young man my little cousin. He has a heart of gold and a personality like no other. I hope to be able to make it out to WA to see him play ball very soon.
