We all have different end goals…from body composition transformation to strength to performance to injury recovery as we take steps along our health and fitness journey.

Regardless of your journey’s path, I encourage you to understand one thing above all: the difference between a SETBACK and a FAILURE. DO NOT allow setbacks to completely derail your progress along the journey.

If you slip up, lose focus, eat off plan, give in to a craving, binge watch an entire season of your favorite show on Netflix instead of getting in any exercise…that’s a setback.  Your choices may not have been in support of your long-term goals, but it does NOT mean you failed and gave up. Your goals are still worth it!

Recognize the setback for what it is, learn from it and get back on track. You only FAIL if you decide that your health and fitness, and the journey required to accomplish your goals aren’t worth it. Don’t make agreement with a lie that seeks to steal, kill or destroy your purposes and potential.

The process of actualizing purpose and potential is a lifestyle choice…it begins when desire meets an intentionality to move forward, and the discipline of undergoing the rigors required is valued and pursued with the tools to make it happen. Your journey may never be EASY, but it will always be WORTH IT.

Each day, you can CHOOSE to put in the effort to succeed. You can CHOOSE to follow the path that leads you to your goals. Or, you can CHOOSE to make agreement with temptations and lies that seek to derail you. The choice is up to you. Every single choice you make has a consequence or blessing attached. As wise person once said, “All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.”
