He implements the highest quality of care with an emphasis on being evidence based and allowing data to drive outcomes.
Cy grew up with a love for athletics, which grew into a passion for strength and conditioning while prepping in the offseason for football. Cy strived to attain a competitive edge against his competitors by focusing on his strength and nutrition. Early in his athletic career he had a season ending injury that required surgery and extensive physical therapy.
During his recovery he was exposed to the field of physical therapy and became interested in the rehab side of performance. The following season, he was introduced to coach Blaine and began training under Blaine’s guidance for the next year. This relationship further sparked the desire to push his body to its highest potential.
Following the conclusion of his high school career he volunteered at the local high school, where he ran the weight room program and coached football. During this time, he recognized the joy of building relationships with athletes and helping them reach their potential.
The idea of blending rehab and performance to align more on a continuum versus a dichotomy started to become clearer. He became fascinated with human performance and opted to pursue a physical therapy degree at University of Montana, to further his understanding of movement. He gained knowledge on human biomechanics and how to manipulate specific variables to reach a desired outcome.
He has always had a competitive drive and a desire to provide the best quality coaching to his athletes and clients. Pursing his physical therapy degree provided him advanced knowledge and skills that he can now bring to his coaching style.
During his didactic work he was exposed to the idea of having principles rooted in science and was able to work with a wide variety of individuals ranging from weekend warriors to professional athletes.
Cy prides himself on the ability to assess each client individually and designs a program that is tailored to their uniqueness and backed by scientific principles that value the no nonsense approach to health, wellness and human performance. He enjoys the process of guiding his client’s physical and mental transformation as they discover their way to a healthier lifestyle.
Outside of work, Cy enjoys outdoor recreation with his wife Amber, daughter Emerson and golden retriever Remy.
